Terms of service

Last updated October 31, 2026.

These terms cover Troubadour Cloud, the optional online backup and viewer for Troubadour campaign notes, run by DPRcalc ("we"). By creating an account or using Troubadour Cloud you agree to them. The Troubadour app itself is open source under its own license; these terms don't change that.

Your account

Your content

Your notes stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store, copy, index and show your content to you, and to the people you give a share link. That permission ends when you delete the content, apart from the short time it takes to clear it from logs and providers' safety copies (see the privacy policy).

You're responsible for what you upload. In particular, if your notes include recordings or transcripts of other people, you need their agreement. Share links show everything in a campaign's newest backup to anyone who has the link.

Acceptable use

Don't use Troubadour Cloud to:

We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why unless the law or safety stops us.

Limits and price

Troubadour Cloud is free for now, with limits (currently 250 MB of storage, 10 campaigns, 20 MB per file and 100 backups per campaign). We may change the limits. If we ever start charging, we'll tell you in advance and you won't pay anything unless you choose a paid plan.

Keep your own copy

Troubadour Cloud is a backup, not the only copy: your notes live on your computer, and you can download them at any time. We work to keep your data safe, but we can't promise the service will always be available or that data will never be lost.

Ending

You can stop at any time: delete your backups or your account. We may end the service or your access to it; unless we have to act sooner (for example, for a breach of these terms or a legal requirement), we'll give you at least 30 days' notice so you can download your notes.

No warranty; limited liability

Troubadour Cloud is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses or lost data, and our total liability for any claim about Troubadour Cloud is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim (while it's free, that's nothing). Nothing here limits rights you have under law that can't be limited by agreement.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Washington, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them where you live.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and tell you in advance by email if a change matters to you; continuing to use Troubadour Cloud after a change means you accept it. Questions: contact us through the Troubadour project on GitHub.
