TroubadourCloud

Privacy policy

Last updated October 31, 2026.

Troubadour Cloud is an optional online backup and read-only web viewer for campaign notes made with Troubadour, an app that runs on your own computer. It is run by DPRcalc ("we"). Troubadour itself works without Troubadour Cloud: nothing leaves your computer unless you connect it to Troubadour Cloud.

What we store

We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies are the ones that keep you signed in. We don't sell your data or use it to train AI models.

Other people in your notes

Campaign notes and transcripts can contain what your players said. If you record a game, get your players' agreement first, and only back up transcripts they're comfortable with being stored online. If a player asks you to remove something, edit or delete it in Troubadour and back up again, or delete your backups (below).

How we use it

Only to run the service: to keep your backups, show them to you, let you restore them, and show them to people you give a share link. We read stored content only when needed to keep the service working or secure, or when the law requires it.

Who else handles it

These companies process your data for us, in the United States:

Like most websites, our hosting keeps request logs for a limited time. They include page addresses, which can include note names. We share data with anyone else only if the law requires it.

Share links

A share link lets anyone who has it read the newest backup of that campaign, all of it, without signing in. Give it only to people you trust with everything in those notes. You can make a new link (the old one stops working) or stop sharing at any time on the campaign's page.

How long we keep it

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your data (such as access or objection). Ask us and we'll help.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored with our providers, who encrypt it at rest. Stored files are private: they're reachable only through Troubadour Cloud after it checks you may read them, or through short-lived signed links it gives you. No system is perfectly secure; if something goes wrong that affects your data, we'll tell you.

Age

Troubadour Cloud is for people 16 and older. Don't sign up if you're younger.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in advance by email if a change affects how your data is used. Questions or requests: contact us through the Troubadour project on GitHub (don't post private details there; ask for a private way to reach us).
